Live Stock Market Updates – Market extends losses, Nifty hovers below 9600

Optical and data networking products company Tejas Networks is expected to make a stock market debut on June 27. The issue price is fixed at higher end of price band of Rs 250-257 per share.

The INDIA VIX is up 4.4% at 11.7. The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,147 down 142 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,573 down 56 points.  The BSE Realty is the top losing index on Friday. It is down by 2.7% at 2,011.  DLF is majorly contributing to the index losses and pulling it to lower level.  DLF is trading lower by 4.5% at Rs 186.80 per share.

Other stocks in the index viz. Oberoi Realty is down 4.5% at Rs 357 per share,  Prestige Estates is down 5.3% at Rs 244 per share, Godrej Properties is down 3.1% at Rs 535.25 per share, HDIL is down 2.9% at Rs 84.70 per share and Sobha is also down by 2.1% at Rs 380 per share.  Meanwhile, Indiabulls Real Estate is the only realty stock that is trading in green. It is up 1.9% at Rs 195.60 per share.

At 12 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,147 down 142 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9,573 down 56 points. A total of 16 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 39 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.  The BSE mid-cap Index is trading down 1.44% at 14,550, while BSE small-cap Index is trading down 1.80% at 15,328.

Some buying activity is seen in Realty, Oil & Gas and Metal indices, while Information Technology index is showing weakness on BSE.  Power Grid, Wipro, NTPC and IndusInd Bank are among the gainers, whereas Indiabulls Housing Finance, IOC, Bank of Baroda and GAIL are losing on the NSE.
