Live Stock Market Updates – Nifty holds 9600, Banking stocks slip

India Infoline News Service | Mumbai | June 15, 2017 10:00 IST The INDIA VIX is flat at 11.1. BSE Sensex is trading at 31,173 up 17 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9607 down 11 points. The BSE Bankex is the top losing index in the morning session on Thursday. It is down by 0.3% at 26,484. ICICI Bank is contributing majorly to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels.  ICICI Bank is down by 0.3% at Rs 318.20 per share.

Other stocks in the index viz. Punjab National Bank is down 3.1% at Rs 147 per share, Bank of Baroda is down 1.4% at Rs 170 per share, Yes Bank is down 0.4% at Rs 1442 per share, Axis Bank is down 0.3% at Rs 506 per share, IndusInd bank is down 0.2% at Rs 1495 per share and HDFC Bank is down 0.1% at RS 1667 per share. At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 31,173 up 17 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9607 down 11 points. A total of 48 stocks registered a fresh 52- week high in trade today, while 21 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE mid-cap Index is trading up 0.23% at 14833, while BSE small-cap Index is trading up 0.51% at 15667. Some buying activity is seen in Telecom, Power and Realty indices, while Oil & Gas, Bankex and Metal indices are showing weakness on BSE. Aurobindo Pharma, NTPC, Adani Ports and Bharti Airtel are among the gainers, GAIL, Bank of Baroda, HCL Technologies and BPCL are losing on the NSE.
