Capital Goods stocks surge; BHEL is the top gainer, up by 4%

Sensex, Nifty maintain uptrend; BHEL, HUL, L&T up 1-4% BHEL, HUL, Tata Steel, Adani Ports and L&T are top gainers while Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Bajaj Auto and GAIL are losers in the Sensex.BSE Capital Goods is substantially ouperperforming the markets even as heavyweight stocks in the sector are buzzing on the bourses.

The Sensex which is trading above its 100-DMA, indicates a bullish undertone to the market. The BSE Capital Goods is currently trading at 14807.18 levels and is up by 188.22 points or 1.29%. Havells, Welspun Corp are the stocks that are dragging the index down.

Havells is down by 1.46% and Welspun Corp is down by 0.25%.Inspite of the two stocks holding down, stocks like BHEL, ABB, Siemens, Ge T&D, L&T are gaining ground and pushing the index to higher levels.BHEL is up by 4.06%, ABB is up by 2.89%, Siemens is up by 1.74%, Ge T&D is up by 1.74% and L&T is up 1.40%.Among all the index constituents, there are 23 advances and 3 declines.
